About Wine Country Woolens |
Back in 1994 I wanted to create something of beauty but also representative of the wonderful Wine Country in which we live. Being a self-taught spinner, weaver and animal lover, I saw natural pairing in raising the animals I love. I utilize only my animals' wool to make these woolen blankets and throws - beauty combined with practical utility. |

As an artist and vineyard owner,
I'm intrigued by the process of dying and mixing colors and textures. To achieve "lasting beauty" I use the best grade of commercial dyes on my wool. |

A few years ago my aunt from Buffalo, N.Y. called me to talk about moving to a nursing home, she was worried she didn't know anyone and would miss her friends. |

I sent her a selection of my woolen throws. She was so excited as she gave them out and made new friends instantly. Now some people call our smaller wool blankets - wheelchair blankets. They are just right to cover your knees, and the soft wool keeps people warm in a decorative way. |
